The World Is Absurd.

Hi everyone in the world,

We’re finished recording.  Since we don’t have any money I’m going to spend some time mixing the rest of the album myself (which means we’ll have 4 songs mixed by real engineers, and 8 or 9 mixed by me in my bedroom).  

Having said that, since I started engineering last year I feel I’ve learned an awful lot … and Kyle and I both feel that we have some pretty cool, homemade/idiosyncratic sounding recordings.

I still can’t say definitively when a record will be released.  However I can say that I’m tremendously proud of this music and that I will see to it that it gets released.  I’ve spent so so soooo many hours in my home writing, recording, thinking, rerecording, thinking, listening, mixing, learning, thinking and rerecording some more (don’t worry some of this stuff is first take stuff, some is 10th take stuff) and I have never been more satisfied with myself in my entire life.

Right now we’re throwing around the idea of doing a handmade pressing of a “pre record EP” - these would be numbered and hand painted and/or drawn on %100 recycled cd jackets.  The EP would consist of a few songs from the record and a couple of b-sides.  It seems like a personable and loving release in my head.

Now, I’ll be gone for all of March jammin’ with my pals in HelloGoodbye at SXSW, South By So What, and Never Say Never.  So if you’re gonna be at any of those, let’s hang out.  After that I’m hoping we can start playing some shows around town and get this Indian thing rolling for real.
